I just this morning received an e-mail from Iraq. If you could help with acrylic paints, pastels and/or canvas boards that would be wonderful!! Either send them to me if you can, or if possible I’ll arrange to pick them up. I’m looking forward to seeing our soldiers art work and sharing it with you all. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
“Hello, my name is Kip Seidenstucker. I’m am Major Coons replacement here at Balad, Iraq. I have many talented soldiers here that come through my Occupational Therapy program. I would really like to send you some of the pictures of the art that has been created with the supplies that you sent to us. Well, we are getting such a large demand that we actually require more art supplies. By the way, I think that the Art in Iraq is a great program. It really does help a lot of soldiers that are here and gives them a way to express themselves. You would be amazed if you could see some of the paintings and pastel work that I am looking at now. Major Coon told me that you would be more than delighted to send more art supplies and that you actually had packages that were ready to send out now. We are running very low on acrylic paint and we don’t have very many things to paint on. I guess canvas and things of that nature. I tried to call the phone number that Major Coon gave me but was unable to reach you, and then she told me that the best way was through email. Well, again we all appreciate what you are doing for us over here and what you are doing really does help soldiers stay in the fight. Please, just send me an email back and maybe a time that i could reach you on the phone because I would really like to thank you by voice and not just by typed words”
