I just received the following e-mail and AMAZING art work from SPC Mike Erbach, one of our soldiers stationed in Iraq.  He generously allowed me to post his paintings hoping that it would serve as his …… “thank you, to all those other people who donated  (art supplies) but that I am unable to contact personally”.   I’ve also included my reply to him.  SPC Erbach is due to come home in August following a 15 month tour in Iraq.

"I am a soldier in Iraq that has benefitted from your kind donations of art
supplies. Being able to go into the combat stress clinic and paint was
extremely theraputic. I didn't even start with a brush- just poured and
squirted the colors onto a big sheet of newsprint and dove in with my
fingers. I was going to try to paste a picture of the finished product here,
but this email form won't let me do it. I left the original there in the
clinic- the important part was the process of making it rather than the
actual finished product. Thank you for that opportunity."

I got word last week from the Combat Stress Unit that they are desperate for acrylic paints,  pastels and canvas board. If anyone could donate those items  I would be very grateful, and will ship them out ASAP!!!  Please SPREAD THE WORD about “Art In Iraq”  This is a long-term commitment on my part, so supplies are needed on an ongoing basis

Thank you to the following -

Gwen…for supplies

Jane…..for a monetary donation towards postage

Lindy…..acrylic paints
